Probably the deepest song on Mega Ran & Storyville’s Soul Veggies album (in stores today on Brick Records), “I Know Who I Am,” came about as part of a DJ Seedless project. Seedless crafted an Afro-Beat jazzy groove that caught the attention of legendary MC Wise Intelligent (of Poor Righteous Teachers) who dropped a scorching verse. To fill out the track, Seedless hit up the Veggies, and Ran and Story came through with multi-layered rhymes chronicling the past, present and future, capped off with Ran’s epic historical breakdown of who, when, what and why we are who are we are.
