We caught up with Mick Jenkins after his set on this years Smokers Club tour to talk about how the tour has been so far for him and what its like touring with such large names as Method Man, Redman and B Real. He lets us know what he has learned so far from the headliners, how its helping his own growth and what it means for an artist like him coming up in the game.
We also discuss the reception of his project “The Water[s]” and how he feels about people being surprised the album is as good as it is. in talking about the project itself he discloses why his song with Kaytranada did not make it to the project.
To close out the interview he lets us know what is up next for him, where he sees himself in the Chicago music scene and his opinion on whose next.
