Jarren Benton On Touring w/ Tech N9ne, Why He Joined Funk Volume, His Grandmother and More Hilarity!
First things first congrats to Jarren Benton on XXL Freshmen Class of 2014
We stopped by the tour bus to sit with Jarren Benton on the Worcester stop of the “Independent Grind” Tour to discuss the tour so far. He lets us know that he is enjoying the fast pace of a tour with Tech N9ne compared to most because of how smooth it is. Back in 2012 he had a lot of labels interested in signing him, but he goes on to let us in on the secret to joining Loud Music.
Jarren goes on to tell us more about his grandmother and the cover of his last project “My Grandmas Basement” and lets us in on getting out of the basement and what he has been able to acquire since hes been gone. Despite how he portrays the basement he tells us its a pretty nice place to be.
Moving on we discuss his mixtapes where he does hardcore drugs with celebrities, despite not providing us with the next name he is certainly looking forward to his fame growing and hoping to have the next mixtape name just come to him from experience. Besides that he fills us in on some brief ideas he is working with for his next album. Before he lets too much go he cuts himself off to discuss Hopsin.
Jarren goes on to explain his thoughts around Hopsin throwing jabs at a lot of the bigger names in the game right now, with one particular moment with Lupe Fiasco.
