“Windows 98” is the second release from DJ Basta’s and TyreseJohnsonMusic’s upcoming collaborative album For The Lost Ones following the first single “To Know Is To Know.” The Oakland duo recruits Dayvid Michael from Down 2 Earth to take on the chorus. TyreseJohnsonMusic uses DJ Basta’s dark production to discuss the impact that technology and social media has had on his social life and interpersonal skills. It’s a theme often discussed by older generations and even on social media sites such as Tumblr. The fear is that humans get wrapped up in creating relationships via these social media platforms that they neglect to do the work to foster these relationships in the real world.
