Emerson Windy – Black America
Emerson Windy recently released his debut project Herojuana featuring Lil Wayne, 2 Chainz, Pusha T, Raekwon, Birdman, Timbaland, Mike Will Made It, DJ Mustard and more. His current single “Black America” has been received with positive feedback as it sheds light on the educational disparities between Black and Whites which is a topic desperately in need of awareness. Responding to the killing of youth Michael Brown in Ferguson last month, “It takes somebody getting killed by a fucking police officer,” Emerson Windy says, “to realize that we have a lot of everyday issues in the Black community that need to be worked on.” Educational disparities is just ONE of the many things that needs the attention and voice of a community coming together.
