Dave New York Has Some Stories To Tell
We sat down with Dave New York while he was on a press tour with Bishop Lamont to hear all about his place in the Hip Hop business today. He goes on to tell us which legendary emcee had a part in his name, how he got into the industry he runs today, the troubles a lot of rappers have when it comes to renting cars, and a chance meeting with Black Thought and Questlove getting the ball rolling for him being the man to talk to when you need a whip.
Dave goes on to tell us some of the craziest stories he has experienced in his career, whether its Big Pun renting a tiny Mercedes, renting Kanye the “Through the Wire”, renting out the Hummers used in the “California Love” video with Tupac and Dre, and finally the day he met J Dilla.
Finally Dave goes on to tell us about the upcoming compilation album “I’ve Got A Story To Tell” that he is putting out including a lot of the people he has become friends with over the years. The album will include Bishop Lamont, Talib Kweli, Chali 2Na, Black Thought, and a lot more.
